Join us for a House Pot featuring chef Moshiko Gamlieli
Chef Moshiko Gamlieli, the star behind chic restaurants Bar 51 and Radler in Tel Aviv, and Mona in Jerusalem, is joining us at Asif for our lunch series “House Pot,” where guests prepare a dish that represents their home. It’s “somewhere between kubbeh hamusta, artichokes à la barigoule, and fish kebab grilled over an open flame,” he says. The dish celebrates seasonal produce and is a return to his culinary roots.
“When I am asked to define things, like my cooking style or the culinary identity of Bar 51, I can’t come up with a precise definition,” Gamlieli says. “For me, the best way is to return to solid foundations and that’s a bit of what I did here. I took something that’s beautiful and in season and started cooking with intention and attention to detail: green artichoke, garden peas, potatoes, Turkish spinach, fresh fish patties, which I always come back to, some spice, and bread.”
