Sesame Stories: A Conversation with Rachel Simons & Adeena Sussman

Join best selling author Adeena Sussman and Seed + Mill founder Rachel Simons for a conversation about Rachel’s debut cookbook, Sesame: Global Recipes & Stories of an Ancient Seed. The duo will dive into the history of sesame and its global popularity. They will also give you a behind the scenes look into the making of a cookbook and share why this project is so personal.

This program will be in English.

Two types of tickets are available:

  1. 7 p.m. tickets for 60 NIS. This ticket includes the conversation and a glass of wine.
  2. 6 p.m. ticket for 125 NIS. This ticket includes a guided tour of Asif’s rooftop farm with Adeena Sussman and Rachel Simons, a copy of the book, a glass of wine, and entrance to the conversation.

Rachel Simons

Book author, founder of Seed+Mill

Rachel Simons is the founder of Seed+Mill, the first store devoted to sesame products in the United States. Their high-quality tahini and halva are favorites of chefs and home cooks alike and are carried in over 1700 stores, including Whole Foods Markets, Sprouts, and beloved specialty stores across the US. Seed+Mill has been featured in Forbes, The New York Times, Food52, Bon Appétit, and more. Rachel was born in Australia, but now lives in New York with her family and beloved Dachshund, who is partial to tahini too!

Adeena Sussman

Cookbook author and food writer

A native of Northern California, Adeena Sussman now calls Tel Aviv and the Carmel Market home. She’s the co-author of numerous books and the author of the New York Times bestsellers “Sababa: Fresh Sunny Flavors From My Israeli Kitchen” and “Shabbat: Recipes and Rituals From My Table to Yours.” In addition to writing, she leads culinary tours of Israel.
