In the heart of Eilat’s industrial zone stands a cornerstone of the city’s culinary scene: Eilat Wines, a wine shop and bar owned by Eran and Dolly Lass. With its eclectic design, art, and shelves brimming with wines, the shop sends a clear message that this is Eilat’s most professional and vibrant wine destination. The impressive selection includes a wide array of Israeli and international wines, cheeses from boutique dairies both local and international, and well curated pantry staples.

When you step into the store, you’ll likely find Eran recommending wine to a customer and Dolly in a waiter’s apron with their grandson Dori nestled in a carrier. Their eldest son Adam, a talented painter, might be loading goods onto a truck, while their middle daughter Ori and her husband Eran prepare for the next culinary evening. Meanwhile, their youngest son, Jonathan Aharon, could be off to the side, focused on designing the event’s graphics. Three generations come together here daily.

On Thursday and Friday evenings, the store transforms into a vibrant wine bar. Guests can choose a bottle of wine at store prices and savor it alongside small dishes crafted by a rotating lineup of chefs.

“Eilat Wines is the culinary cornerstone of Eilat,” says local chef Lior Raphael. “When you’re inside, you’re captivated by the setting. But when you take a step back, you see that this industrial building is more than a store; it’s a dynamic cultural hub. One day it might host a performance by the Eilat Elad Theater, another day a culinary evening led by a guest chef, or perhaps an exclusive Burgundy wine tasting for devoted enthusiasts. The flower that Eran and Dolly planted in the heart of the industrial zone has taken root in the asphalt, transforming the entire area’s texture. There’s no other place that elevates, supports, and propels the city’s culinary scene like Eilat Wines. If we were in France, Eran would have been awarded an MOF (Meilleur Ouvrier de France) title long ago.”
