Asif Day is a day of events and activities, presenting and resuming the research process for the exhibition “A Kitchen of One’s Own: Nechama Rivlin”. An Agriculture of One’s Own, an event for the professional audience, explores one of the exhibition’s main themes.
The event will open at 9 am, with a guided tour of the center. Next, three activities will illuminate different aspects of agriculture and its future, examining its relationship with the local culinary culture: After a coffee break – with herbal tea from Asif’s rooftop farm – we shall proceed to Future on the Roof: a meeting with AgriTech companies, whose technologies are demonstrated in our rooftop farm – that will expand on their innovative technologies for confronting climate change. Later on, prof. Nativ Dudai, head of the unit of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants at Volcani Center, will divulge the secret of Genovese basil in his fascinating lecture “The Science of the Perfect Pesto Sauce“. The event will conclude with Herbal – a culinary presentation and tastings by chef Noa Levi, with recipes accentuating the inter-species differences of our rooftop herbs.
