Hila Alpert cooks with words and food. She is the author of “There’s Always Room Downtown: A Haifa Food Diary” and co-authored the “FoodTrip: Tasting Jerusalem,” and writes culinary stories about families. She is also associated with the Israeli Olive Council. Originally from Kibbutz Ma’ale HaHamisha, she now resides in Haifa’s Bat Galim neighborhood.
