Rosh Hashanah and Fall Holiday Recipes

Many Rosh Hashanah recipes highlight the best ingredients of the season like grapes in Haim Cohen’s beef bourguignon, pomegranates in the Persian dish fesenjan, and plums in Joan Nathan’s tart. And of course there are apples and honey recipes like an Ethiopian honey tart and apple and date challah bread pudding.

In this collection, you will also find recipes for sweet carrots and beef kofta curry from the community of Baghdadi Jews of India and our partners at the Jewish Food Society. For Yom Kippur, there’s Yemenite zom, a warm yogurt soup that comes together quickly once the fast is broken and stuffed zucchini and onion sleeves for Sukkot. But all of these recipes are wonderful for anytime during the fall.

Wishing you a sweet and happy year!
