The cooking at Michael Local Bistro reflects a keen awareness of the seasons and relies heavily on locally sourced produce. Located in a picturesque orchard in Moshav Liman in the Western Galilee, the country restaurant is committed to the region and open Wednesday through Saturday, ensuring you can eat there during the perfect weekend escape.
Chef Michael Gertofsky personally procures raw ingredients from local markets, including those in Akko, Kafr Yasif, Ma’alot-Tarshiha, and Yarka. His ever-evolving menu draws on Galilean and Arab influences, but is quite free form. For the most part, he cooks what he enjoys himself

“The impressive journey Gertofsky made from Tel Aviv restaurants to the Galilee speaks volumes,” notes Erez Komarovsky. “By starting his day in the market, he has crafted a refined Israeli restaurant deeply rooted in the Western Galilee.”
Gertofsky is also the proprietor of Bread Tene, an artisanal bakery in Kibbutz Gesher HaZiv in the Galilee, as well as Venia Bistro in Haifa. In Tel Aviv, he operates Cicchetti, an Italian small plates spot, and the tapas bar Vermuteria.
